The Kimberley Kaleidoscope Arts & Culture Festival is an 8-day celebration that provides a series of visual, performing and literary arts events. Area residents and visitors get the chance to see and/or participate in performances, exhibitions, demonstrations, and workshops in various artistic events and activities. Local, regional, and touring artists can showcase their work, receive commission or instruction fees, or sell their artwork.
First Saturday of Every Month (July - October)
First Saturdays are FREE, monthly one-day-only festivals that run the first Saturday of every month from July to October. It is a celebration of local arts and culture, bringing together live music, local vendors, and activities for people of all ages in Kimberley's heart; the Platzl.
First Saturday was imagined and created in 2013 to support and bring local/regional artistic talent to the community.
Each month has a theme featuring family-friendly programs. We strive to provide diverse artistic talents and make our activities participatory whenever possible.
First Saturdays have grown into a mainstay of Kimberley's summer/fall seasons and works with many community partners to promote even more than Arts, Culture and Heritage, including such things as Nature Park hikes.
This program has been part of the Kimberley Arts Council-Centre 64 for over a decade. It consists of three or four Spring and Fall concerts, presenting jazz, blues and world music. Live@Studio64 has showcased local, national and international performers.
Live @C64 happens in the Spring and Fall of each year.
Children can use their creativity throughout the summer and explore different art forms and media. The 2022 edition included pottery, clay modelling, painting, weaving and theatre workshops. Each year the Kimberley Arts Council-Centre 64 looks for talented artists and instructors to unleash the artist in each kid.
